This loveable lion looks to be 30s or 40s and was likely a mascot. Charmingly made, he consists of several pieces of suede, stuffed to give dimension and hand cut, stitched and painted. His mane is dyed blue fur…faux or real I don't know. He measures approximately 3 ½" long by 3 3/8" wide and is lightweight with an old fashioned safety pin, pinned right through the back. Not quite vintage but teetering on the edge, this magnificent snake pin by MMA (Metropolitan Museum of Art) is dated 1985 and is very well made. Coiled in a figure of eight shape, it is made of gold tone metal with hatch-work scale designs and features a multi-prong set, green cabochon crown (glass or natural stone), red cabochon eyes and tongue and raised red enamel rectangles along its back.
