I began studying belly dance about six months ago, and ever since reading about how deep the "serpent" symbolism is to belly dance, I have been seeking serpent jewelry. My search has been mostly disappointing in the sense that so much modern jewelry, costume and otherwise, is poorly made and even cheaply made even when expensive! Through an AOL search for "snake rings" I found my serpent soul mate on the Absolutely Vintage website. I have never seen such a ring -- beautiful, mystical, and solid all at once, also very affordable and to top it all off, adjustable which is a great feature in itself, as I have the notorious "knuckle" trouble with rings in that they are large enough to go over my knuckle (when bought according to size) but then are loose at the base of the finger. Thank you, Joan, for the fast shipping and the surprise of a bag of chocolates placed in with the ring which was so beautifully, thoughtfully, individually wrapped. I finally received my second package from your store (after a week of upset that the Post Office had lost it!), I am once again overwhelmingly delighted and impressed with the items. Hi! I can't tell you the pleasure I had strolling through your beautiful items and variouis areas on your website! I am an antique dealer, dealing in museum quality beaded and metal mesh purses prior to 1930's. Jewellery is not my area of expertise, although I love viewing your site and I thought perhaps you had some of the older designer pieces in photo.

I am trying to validate a set of beautiful designer set of 14KG and huge lapis stones. It was appraised in 1974 for $76,500.00 (6 pcs.) and I was told that it was probably designed by Wong the Jewellery Designer of California, now deceased, for Helena Rubenstein. Although I have the 1974 appraisal from the jewellery store in Texas, there is nothing that would authendicate this. I have contacted the Helena Rubenstein Foundation and they are not very helpful in wanting to deal with small items such as these 6 pcs. I have also contacted Ms. Wong's only child, a son who lives in New York City and he states that all of his mothers sketches, photos of designed items, etc. are in a warehouse in California and that he only gets back there once or twice per year. He had no interest in going through those things to provide any assistance, which I can't much blame him.

My thinking is that if we could find photos , magazines, etc. that might show this set. We have several books that show Helena Rubenstein wearing huge, massive pieces such as these are but none that show these very pieces. Hence my reason for checking out your website.
